Interior and Technology
The EcoSport offers a roomy backseat thanks to ample interior space. It can fit five people in its two rows, and average-sized adults can ride in the back without feeling cramped. You can use ambient lighting to set the mood or let a light breeze in, thanks to the power moonroof. Halogen projector headlamps and available LED lighting are sure to impress your passengers.

The rear outboard seats have LATCH connectors, while the middle seat is equipped with an upper tether. The EcoSport has more cargo space than most vehicles in its class. Behind the rear seats, you'll find 20.9 cubic feet of space. When folded flat with a 60/20 split, you can increase available space to 50 cubic feet. The vehicle's rear gate is unique, as it rotates to the side rather than lifting.

Infotainment and Connectivity
There are a variety of features that tech-junkies will enjoy in the new 2020 EcoSport. A majority of these features are related to interactivity and connectivity.

The standard EcoSport comes equipped with a Wi-Fi hot spot, 4.2-inch display, and two USB ports. The display features user-friendly buttons and knobs. Available features include Ford's SYNC 3, an 8-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Engine and Performance
The standard pairing is a front-wheel-drive turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. It produces 123 horsepower. The base engine gets an EPA rating of 27 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway, which is average for a subcompact SUV.

Also, available is a naturally aspirated four-cylinder that generates 166 horsepower, but it is only available in models with all-wheel drive.
The EcoSport is considerably more agile than the average subcompact SUV, and it's responsible steering allows drivers to handle tight-quarters with ease. It's designed for city travel and provides a significant amount of maneuverability-performing better in city streets than other cars in its class.

For added confidence, available intelligent AWD provides added traction in situations when you need it the most. AWD is standard in models with the 2.0-liter Ti-VCT engine. If equipped for towing, a 2020 EcoSport is rated to tow up to 2,000 pounds.

Safety Ratings and Features
The 2020 EcoSport received a safety rating of four out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). This rating is from earning four stars in the frontal crash test and five in the side crash evaluation. In rollover tests, the front-wheel-drive model received three stars while the all-wheel-drive received four.

The International Institute for Highway Safety has not tested the 2020 EcoSport. Standard safety features include a rearview camera and the Ford MyKey driver's system. If you have teenagers, you'll appreciate the addition of MyKey to encourage safe driving habits. It allows parents to set additional seatbelt reminders and limits on audio volume and speed for secondary drivers.

Feel safer while driving with added driver assistance features such as rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
