The All New 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning

The Lightning comes with two battery pack options: the regular and the extended range. They will cover 230 miles and 300 miles respectively in between charging. The "Mega Power Frunk" is the new feature of the lightning that might just get the most attention. It is a powered open and close trunk located in the front of the truck where the engine used to be. The "Frunk" will provide a loading capacity of up to 400 lbs and will also have 4 120v outlets and a USB-C and USB-A outlet. It will also feature a drainable floor so it can double as a food and drink container. These features would not be possible in your gasoline-powered vehicles!

The all-new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has the performance that you have come to count on in an F-150. The 2000 lbs maximum payload capability will handle all your toughest jobs. Plus, the towing capacity can go up to 10,000 lbs with the max trailer tow package.

With the extended battery, the Lightning can go from 0-60mph in about 4.5 seconds. The Lightning also comes with automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitors with cross-traffic alerts.

You also have the option of 18, 20, or 22-inch wheels on each Lightning, as well as an elongated running board on three of the trim options. All-wheel drive will give you the confidence that you can handle any terrain that comes your way.

Each trim level of the all new 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning was designed to be customizable for each unique driver. Below we break down some of the differences in each trim.

The Pro comes standard with the 2.4 pro power on board for all your power needs. It will feature the 2.0 driver assist technology the Mega Power Funk that also has multiple outlets and 14.1 cubic feet of space. You will get the SYNC 4A infotainment system with a 12-inch touchscreen and long-lasting vinyl seating. The battery range is a strong 230 miles with an option to get the extended battery range of 300 miles.

The XLT adds signature front lighting with a grey satin metallic grill. Enhanced zone lighting shows off the new elongated running boards and the cloth seats add to the cab's comfort. There is also an interior work surface that is added for those who use their truck as a part-time office.

For safety, a 360-degree camera is added so your view is crystal clear. The Tow Technology package, including the trailer backup assist, and the Max Trailer Tow package are available on the XLT as well. You can also add the 9.6 kW Pro Power Onboard to enhance your Lightning's power along with the Ford Co-Pilot 360 Assist 2.0 system.

With the Lariat level, the Lightning adds a premium geometric grey-ion satin grille. It also comes with 20-inch dark carbonized gray wheels. The running boards become retractable on the Lariat. For comfort, leather-trimmed heated and ventilated seating is added to the cabin along with the SYNC 4A system with a 15.5inch touchscreen.

Ford has also added the option with the Lariat model of having your phone act as a key. This benefit can be used by other family members as well. The 9.6 kW Pro Power Onboard comes standard along with a power tailgate.

The Ford Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 comes standard and can be upgraded to the BlueCruise and active park assist. Some of the options available for the Lariat are a twin-panel moonroof, the extended-range battery, and the Ford Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0.

Platinum goes to another level with 22-inch bright machined aluminum wheels with ebony black painted pockets, as well as a black tinted chrome grille. The extended range battery is standard on the Platinum level.

The interior includes heated and ventilated Nirvana leather seating surfaces and multi-contour front seats with Active Motion that offers Ford's maximum recline front seats.

Sound steps up with the B&O Unleashed Sound System by Bang & Olufsen. This system includes 18 speakers to give you the best sound on the road. The Ford Co-Pilot360 Active 2.0 and twin-panel moonroof also come standard.
